timepiececlock: (Logan/Veronica love stories)

I can hear the bells, ringing joyful and triumphant

OMGEPIC!

Just because I don't think I've said it yet, and of course I must join in and due my part. You know what? For most of season 1 was mutually into V/L and V/Weevil. Then by the last 5 or so episodes I was really into V/L. Then this season I was silently rooting for them but doubting they'd get back together... until now, when we're back to the last quarter of the season, and Veronica and Logan are in EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE as last season (pardon the caps.) Are we setting a pattern here? Is this the layout for future seasons of "lives ruined and bloodshed"?

Cause if it is, I'd be down with that.

Also, I'm weirdly glad that it seems the epic love story of VM (and how much more cannon do you get than the characters themselves calling it "epic", which btw is such a Logan view-- both heartbreakingly romantic and twisted cause his view of love is twisted through his life experiences that have taught him epic romance=lives ruined and bloodshed) is the ship I'm actually with, from the beginning. And the love interest is not the cardboard brooding guy. I can't imagine it being season 4 and a "Spike" character being introduced to take over the romantic running subplot and steal away from the cardboard brooding guy, because the main love story is the "Spike" character. Not that Logan's Spike, because he's very different, but in assigning arbitrary Buffy comparisons (hey, that's what I do with every fandom after BTVS) he comes the closest. Even though Weevil is technically more of the badboy/dangerous guy, Weevil is so not Spike--- he's not romantic enough or pathetic enough the way Logan can be. I don't know who Weevil would be on Buffy.... but anyway, I'm totally off track!

What I meant by all this was that, since I am prone to loving the snarky overly-romantic fuck-up woobies, I'm quite fond that I won't have to sit through three seasons of Duncan before getting Logan with Veronica. And damn... I didn't even think I'd *like* Logan when the show started.

So...yeah... this is a rambling monologue about how pleased I am with my ship. Ignore any nonsensical jumps, please.

In other news, of all the people on this show, I wish I had Logan's silver tongue. They give him really articulate, clever lines. Not just funny lines, but lines with complex multiple meanings and quite an edge of wit. Even drunk he sounds so damn....smart. I have a weakness for a good turn of phrase, and Logan seems to spout a continuous stream of excellently turning words. And yet it doesn't annoy me; it just makes me kind of jealous. I can express my intelligence through my opinions, but I can't open my mouth and in 5 words convince people that I am both articulate and saavy by saying crude things in a really clever manner. On the spot. With no half hour in the bathroom thinking it up.

I'll be over here, feeling jealous over not having a team of writers in my head
at all times to make everything that pops out of my mouth brilliant.
