waistin' away in computer-ville... and Spuffy.
I'm back in the computer lab for a few hours-- looks like I'll be doin' this EVERY day, since I just decided to add a 4:10pm-5:30 creative writing class to my schedule.
I just finished weight-lifting class, and as energizing as that was, it became a lot less cool when I had to carry my thirty-pound backpack all over campus on the same shoulders I'd just brutally excercised.
On Buffy:
Not the bestest-ever epsiode, but fairly good as an opener. Standard Buffy-esque high quality. The Evil monologue at the end was the best. If nothing else, they've got me COMPLETELY hooked--I'm dying to know what are all these exciting new changes the writer's are promising. And plus, I've got NO idea where they're taking Spike, and that just makes me MORE excited.
Just gonna say a bit on here, and save most of it for the CrumblingWalls discussion.
Lesson 1: Johnny Rzeznik's still pretty damn cute. New song's alright, not *great*, but not terrrible.
Lesson 2: There's non-white people in sunnydale?! OMG! That casting person discovered diversity! :polite cough: Actually, I was quite pleased. The new principle's cute (though I ottally forgot about him when I saw Spike), and I had been planning to do a fic where Dawn's got a really hot boyfriend of hispanic background, so I'm all 'haHA!' now that she's got her own latino-xander. I thought the girl was a little too old to be playing someone in Dawn's year, but oh well. I mean, if you ask me DAWN is too old-looking to be playing just a freshman too, so nevermind.
Of course, I loved the Spike parts. I was TOTALLY surprised that he was under the school. A misplaced desire to be closer to Dawn, cause he can't handle being around Buffy? Probably not if he didn't help.... anyway, I'm so glad now that I wasn't spoiled. That's me--shock central. And the way they looked at eachother, and how she said his name--- it was WAY more than I'd hoped for.
"There's a duck now?" instant classic line. And I loved how he said 'Buffy, duck.' So sweet and said.
Yeah, he didn't help her, but he did warn her, and he probably was quite sure that she could handle herself. And that was right, because she did.
I like the hair--a little too long, but the blond ends were awesome.
Best moment: "Are you real?" and then his semi-hysterical laughter.
