G-00, Ep 6-8...wherein we get more fanservice, more sparkles, and still not enough characterization
Epsiode 6
So Allelujah gets put in solitary confinement? That's interesting, because it makes me wonder how exactly Celestial Being has control over the pilots. I thought they were volunteers, but maybe not.
Purple-haired pilot is a dick, but I do agree with him. From a realistic standpoint considering what their mission is about, it was a mistake for Allelujah to support the rescue efforts. What's more interesting, though, is that Purple Haired Pilot seems to be in more of a command role than Allelujah, or at least talks like he is. Would he also be subject to "time outs" in solitary if he screwed up? Why does CB treat their adult pilots like children, locking them up for bad behavior? Why not just dock their pay, or punch them a couple times, or cut off their ear as a lesson? Who puts up with "time out" when they're over 15 years old?
The amount of boobage and fanservice is starting to get annoying. Is *every* person here a size D? And could the ones at Celestial at *least* be dressed a little more seriously, considering their roles? I don't remember Gundam anime series being particularly fanservice-heavy. But I've had about as much of Sumeragi's cleavage as I could possibly want to see.
Episode 7
SoHeeroSetsuna's deep trauma is that a fanatic mercenary gathered a bunch of children and convinced them to murder their families to earn a place in the army of God? I appreciate the acknowledgement of the horrors of child soldiering, and this does go a long way to explain Setsuna's obvious mental problems. But how come we *still* don't get to know more about the pilots as people? This is all plot stuff.
On the beach: Tieria, or whatever his name is, is completely right. I wouldn't trust him for an ounce, but he's correct and I don't understand how any of the pilots can be naive about this. The youngest, Setsuna, ought to be the most naive... but for all his Crazy Factor, he at least seems to understand the full gravity of what they're undertaking. Lockon's behavior doesn't make sense if he's supposedly the oldest and the "team leader" according to his character summary on the official website.

More fanservice. Great. I hate it when anime series do this-- resort to fanservice because the characters aren't interesting enough on their own.
As episodes go this was alright-- I think Setsuna is acting even more unprofessional, what with randomly telling TeenQueen that he's a gundam pilot, and his code name.
We've now gotten three names for him-- the Japanese codename, the fake name he gave her in this episode, and "Sora" or "Soran" that the woman called him in the flashback, which presumably was his mother.
We did learn that despite looking like ever other Japanese-ethnic anime character but with red eyes, Setsuna is apparently supposed to "look" Middle Eastern. What? I'm sorry, but that's just lame. If you really wanted to do that, then they should have given him more distinct features instead of such generic anime Japanese-idealized features. I applaud any multi-ethnic cast in anime, but this is just about the shallowest effort I've ever seen. We can't believe it if we can't see it.
Predictions:
-Saji's going to get recruited either for or against CB.
-CB is going to dissolve, or at least suffer an internal crisis, and most if not all of the Gundams will become free agents.
-TeenQueen is going to recruit at least Setsuna to defending her country, maybe more. Probably after she "saves" him from a mental breakdown.
-the whole idea of "violence to stop violence" will be abandonned, a la GW's final philosophy.
-Tieria is going to be a villain for a while then be good again
-the pony-tailed engineer and Sumeragi are going to start a relationship and spy on each other at the same time
