Doctor Who - 4x03 & 4x04
4x03 - "Planet of the Ood"
Look at Ten's hair! It's even longer and spikier in front than last episode. It's so anime-spikey, which is odd because I totally do not expect that kind of thing.
"You've got a box, he's got a Ferrari." Ten's pouty face that the TARDIS being dissed is cute.
Overall, good episode. A little predictable, but good. I like the actress for Donna--she's very good. A better actress than the one who played Martha, though there was nothing really wrong with Martha's acting. It's just that the actress for Donna seems, well, a better actor.
Donna's reaction to the Ood felt very similar to Rose's initial reaction. Although there's no black hole or demon to distract them, this time.
That transformation thing was, well, weird. I'm not sure if it was good or bad, as plot devices go. Makes no sense, but then it IS Doctor Who and just last episode they WERE crawling through the gaseous inner chambers of a volcano.
4x04 - "The Sontaran Stratagem"
Yeah, I don't like those car nav things either.
"It didn't take long to replace me, eh." Why doesn't anyone remember he's a TIME traveller? It could have been 80 years for the Doctor and five months for Martha.
"Don't start fighting, please don't start fighting." Wow this is awkward.
"She's engaged, you prawn."
"Really, you too?" ...too? what?
"Is that what you did to her, turned her into a soldier?" ...for some reason, that makes me think of Rose in 1x06, "Dalek". I'm actually thinking that Donna so far is very similar to season 1 Rose, except older and wiser and less awestruck.
"I'll have a salute." Oh I *love* her. I liked Martha, but I *love* Donna.
Do they just...walk through the door? Isn't that against all military training EVER? They'd never go through that door without securing the two guys first.
This kid is of the type we've seen before in the show. The actor's not bad, though, with his selfish craziness.
Hm. This was a good episode, I think. Overall, I've liked all four episodes so far.
