Wow. That's...that's beautifully written.

Finally saw this last night, too. All in all, to my complete not-at-all-surprise, I liked "WALL-E" better, but this movie was great fun too. I share in the wish of those who wanted more kid!Ellie, because I loved her to pieces. Kevin and Dug were also awesome; indeed, I actually think they may have been the best things about the movie for me.

That isn't to marginalize Russell or Carl, though. I actually think one of the talents Pixar's shown itself to have in spades is doing so much with so little, and so even though the dialogue rarely stops to point a big neon sign at the bond they form, it's very clearly developing anyway before it's made explicit.

My one let-down was Muntz. Particularly when compared to Auto or Syndrome, or even Sid from "Toy Story", he just seemed...bland. Not very threatening, and not very well developed as a character. It's a shame, too, because Christopher Plummer voices him very distinctly, and I actually think there was a lot of potential to him with his backstory.

Still, it was a good time. That letter, though...that's just really knocked me on my duff, it's so amazing. I hope the author actually sends it to the Pixar offices.
