I'm not one of those instant fireside storyteller types (I've met those types, they impress me.)
In New Orleans, right? It's just a hunch, but it feels like you might've met a few in New Orleans. I have a friend who can almost perform stories, with hand gesticulations and loads of energy, but she rehearses her stories so it's not as impressive. I have yet to meet one of those magical storytellers myself.
You know, it was interesting how your cynical side really surfaced while you were improvising; it seems like your ironic sense of humor is most natural to you. Just one example would be the apple-feeding and the tenacity of the cliche; really, sentences like that really mark a Shakafic.
