banner!fear

ok, just went to see the B/A banner at the www.televisionwithoutpity.com forums.

My reaction?

Initial: Bleh. Grow up. Don't waste your money. Jane E. said the Buffy/Spike love story is her favorite plot arc, hah!

Belated, hidden: **fear builds deep in heart that somehow, somewhere, Joss will see this, and against all logic and rationality change his mind, and have Angel get back with Buffy, and it will be horrible for so many many reasons oh please make it stop!!!!**

Third: Bleh. Grow up. Spend your money on SaveFarscape! banners instead.

When I saw that add, I just laughed and laughed. Seriously, what is the point? Joss has the final scene written, and I very much doubt that a $100 banner add on TWOP is gonna change things.

Oh well, at least the flowery script and general soppiness is in keeping with the B/A theme ;)

Ugh. I saw it to. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Don't worry on that Joss thing. The way he seems, I bet it'd make him more likely to not put Buffy and Angel together.

Every time a new banner goes up, I'm cringing in case it's a Spuffy one (please, nobody do a Spuffy one - the whole thing's so tacky). I loved the Ganya banner a few weeks back, though.

For some reason, I am always unable to see Television Without Pity forum-banners. *sniffles dolefully*

I've even seen people claiming that there is a B/A wedding in the final ep. I am not promoting a spoiler here, I don't believe that's a spoiler. It wasn't posted as being a spoiler, there's no WAY it could be a spoiler, but it makes me very mad that people are claiming this.

So I'm flipping through this months InStyle and what should I stumble across but an ad for Verragio makers of fine jewelry with says "When Forever is Right Now"

And I began to laugh. I don't have money to throw away on donations to Variety ads for James Marsters (nor would I because it's extrememly tacky) and I sure as hell wouldn't waste my money on a banner ad like the one in question - unless I was rich and the ad was a parody and very very funny.

But geez, they ripped off an ad for fucking engagement rings which proves my point - *delusional* and in need of a sustaining fairytale fantasy to jusitfy their own sorry loveless lives. =)

I have had my own concerns about something B/A at the end of this season, but I always comfort myself with the reminder that Joss has declared vehemently that "Angel" will continue. And we know that SMG does not plan to continue. So a B/A ending wouldn't work, since they would then have to quickly explain why Buffy vanishes immediately afterward.

Unless, you know, Buffy and Angel got married, and so Spike kills everyone as a result. I could kind of get behind that ending, in a pinch.

But I'd much prefer something at least vaguely happy.

The thing that makes me worry the most is that Joss is gonna end a 7 yr run of a feminist show with the star having to choose a MAN to be with. Pheh. I don't want her with either one of them. I would rather have a Xena like ending than that. Or you know, everyone dying. Cause I'm callous and strange. Then we can have a movie years from now where Buffy and Angel get together and break more kitchen tables having sex. And Spike can be with the one woman he really wants, the only one who understands him. Anya. Shut up. It could happen.

sure, the day he resurrects Tara ...

Actually, he'll resurrect Tara a long time before he'll resurrect B/A. In fact I would look forward (with some pleasure, actually) to a Buffy/Tara finale. Tara could always humanize her a little!

But don't worry. It will be okay.
