help?

I'm having some problems with photshop text option.

I open a little pic in photoshop 6, and I want to add text to it. So I click on the "T" tool, and to use that I have to draw/select a box-frame on the picture where I assume my text would go. But instead of a cursor, I get this huge blinking cursor-type line that goes beyond the picture from the top of the screen to the bottom. And when I type my text, I can't see it no matter the color. But it shows up in the layer information window on the side. I'm very confused, and it's making me frustrated. The text doesn't show up, so I can't highlight it or adjust it because I can't see it, even though I typed it in.

I know this is probably too obvious to mention, but is the text size...normal? Sometimes my Photoshop arbitrarily gives me 120-point text. I have to close out of the program and re-open it then.

And, happy birthday!

And, happy birthday!

Thank you!

And yes, the text size is normal. I've changed it anywhere from 6 to 18, and it doesn't show.

resize it using Control T

and change the color before using text, or highlight it then change the text.

MAKE sure the layer you are working on is highlighted in the LAYERS pallet.

I did Control T and it just opened up the text window. I have the settings for the text to be at a low, visible size. I've changed the text size multiple times and it doesn't show up still.

and change the color before using text, or highlight it then change the text.

whatever color I chose, doesn't show up.

MAKE sure the layer you are working on is highlighted in the LAYERS pallet.

I am; the layer label on the pallet says whatever I type in, but on the image window itself it's not there.

same thing happened to me yesterday... so I closed Photoshop and tried again and it worked fine... might be a bug.

hmm.. if it's a bug, it seems to have made a permanent home of my computer. Maybe I should re-install it.

Which font were you trying to use? It happened to me again yesterday as I tried to use Sevenet.
