I called it, checkmate, 50+ moves ahead
OH my god! Oh my god! Sasuke's all power-crazed!
I can see where this is going! I can see it all! Sasuke will do the Vegita thing and willfully choose the path of darkness to avenge his family!
And sooner or later, in 50 episodes or so from now, he's going to be the BIG VILLAIN! I should have seen this coming even sooner! I thought Sasuke was just going to be weaker than Naruto and never quite measure up and resent him for it... this is MUCH BETTER THAN THAT!
This is... so perfect... it's going to be so big and tragic... eventually, this show will be about Naruto, with all his demon power, facing down Sasuke, with all his curse-driven-power! Oh the irony will be magnificent... Naruto eventually having to face Sasuke, the very person whose near-death sacrifice on Naruto's behalf triggered the initial release of Naruto's fox demon power! And Naruto, who slaughtered half the village as the Nine-tailed Fox Demon, will be the good guy, and Sasuke, whose family was once the greatest defenders of the village and the most respected ninjas, will now be the bad guy! And Sakura will be caught between them... the boy who was her first love who is now an evil traitor, and the boy who loved her tht she didn't, who is now the good one, the one that no one had any expectations for and half the village hated that became the one who is going to save them from Sasuke's mistakes.
No matter about Sasuke's brother, or Ono-what's-his-name, or the scary sand kid. No matter what other villains appear ((*takes a minute to once again bask in the coolness of the season 2 opening with said villains present*)) in the interrim, in the end it's going to be Sasuke versus Naruto.
The IRONY! Then you'll wonder, if Sasuke never got that curse, would he be in that spotlight with Naruto? What would his future had been if the snake dude have never been there to tempt him with the power?
And when we finally get to that point, it will be after having watched them, so many eons ago (by that time), training together as children, and we'll remember it and think back "Oh god, things were so simple and easy back then! And now it's All.About.The.Pain!!!!"
Of course, none of this has happened yet. But oh, the angst that is to come!
This show is making with some big revelations a lot sooner than I expected it to. Which only makes it better, for not holding out like we'd expect. The way they're delt with in the storyline too... ::squeals:: It's GREAT! I can tell, already, that this show will never burn out on me like DBZ, the only other fighting anime I've watched a lot of. No, this show is not going to screw over my fan heart. And you know why? Because the same guy who wrote the manga to begin with will be writing it when it ends. No switching to co-producers or trading the best writers to the spin-off or cancelling it just when they the characters propose marriage and get blown up, or anything like that. In fact, the only thing that could kill this show is if the manga creator died all of a sudden. And from this site interview I read, he's relatively young yet. Hoh-yeah.
I thought it was going to be cool when we eventually get to see Demon!InuYasha and Sesshoumarrou duke it out once and for all on Rumiko Takahashi's IY. That's nothing compared to where Naruto is eventually going to go when Naruto and Sasuke finally go at it, a few seasons into the future. It's going to be sick.
