Music Poll!

[Poll #244485]

I'm listening to Mathew Good's "Weapon" right now, and I can't remember if I got it from someone's LJ or if I ripped it off a music vid. Did anyone already post this and that's where I got it? Because if they didn't, then I'll put this one up as one of the first...

Gotcha. I got it from Restoration Chapter 12, tho'. (Unfortunately it's not up anymore 'cause it's not the most recent chapter.)

Huh? Is this a fic w/ music links?

Yeah, the people at Dancing Lessons have soundtracks for the chapter, related to specific characters... usually 1-3 songs per chapter. You can play them in your browsers MP3 plug-in as you read, and/or d'l them. But they only leave them up for a little while after the fic is updated, so I don't have the songs from all of the DL-War-Restoration trilogy. I've gotten songs like Aimee Mann's "Real Bad News" and Matthew Sweet's "Girlfriend" from them.

And, I'm not part of that operation, but heck, I'll pimp anyway – you can get CDs of the music for donating to the site. Dancing Lessons and War are complete, if you're interested... they're redemptionist epics that split from canon around "Forever." Dancing Lessons was one of the first epic BtVS fics I've read, and I loved it. It's written by a bunch of authors working together.

I think I've read all of Dancing Lessons and about half of War. I remember liking them, but getting bored of the style and the way things were progressing about halfway through the second "book." Like when you read several novels by the same author in a row, and get sick of it. I'd probably enjoy going back, though. Especially for music!

I just organized all the music that I've downloaded from places other than Peer 2 peer networks but not yet put to CD... I have 156 songs. THat's a lot.

::comes back from downloading four songs::

I love this! How often does it get updated?

Not all that often... I dunno if it's the collaborative thing or what, but it takes awhile. I just checked, and it seems there was about two months between the last two updates. Sometimes it's closer together if it's multiple parts of the same chapter.
