::cowers in the corner at sight of Jareth's hair::

You know, it never occured to me until just now that the girl in Labyrinth was the same Jennifer Connelly actress who is in a bunch of movies lately. It's an "Oh. Huh." moment.

I watched Labyrinth once. I think I was about 12 or 13 (i.e. old enough to have a crush on Agent Mulder but also young enough to think anyone over 18 was old and gross. Except, you know, Agent Mulder-- especially when he's with Scully because that was twu wuv.) I thought it was cute, and I liked the goblins that tagged along, but I thought David Bowie was too scary to be sexy.

I kinda still think he's too scary in that movie to be sexy.

But I did like his name. Jaaaaaaaareth. Jareth is a very, very cool name. I'm a fantasy buff and so of course names that end -eth are automatically a bit cooler than most, and Jareth just sounds cool. Like Jarod, but cooler. Like it would be a hella cool name to give your kid ...if it weren't incredibly pretentious and also doom him to a life of ridicule by David Bowie fans.

I should put this movie on my Netflix list.

And I'm going to go find Labyrinth fanfic now. Nevermind that I don't remember any of the characters names and barely any plot... fanfic!

i remember reading the book several times as a kid. i loved it. i think i only saw the movie once or twice though. now i'm itching to see it.

a lot of times, certain phrases just pop into my head at random moments. one of them (which i very nearly used as the sub heading for my lj but thought people would mock me for making a labyrinth reference) is "the fiereys are wild. are they ever."

every few days, that will just pop into my head.

it could just be me, insane. whatever.

You're not insane. The Fight Club line "Remember, that's three times you promised." pops into my head at least once every 4 weeks. Sometimes it takes a minute to remember where it comes from, and I always assume it's a woman's voice, until finally I remember that it's Brad Pitt.

::pats you on shoulder:: Nope. Welcome to a mad, mad world. Whatever you think is wrong with you is doubly wrong with everyone else, inverted.
