(no subject)

I was reading a thread on adultswim. com where some silly person suggested that FMA belong on the Toonami program block, which used to run in the afternoons and evenings, though I don't when it runs now, (obviously they weren't watching FMA last Saturday), and I couldn't help but respond. Then since I took so much time to make a list, I thought I ought to post my response here just for fun.

Also, to the main point of the thread: the conversation so far is really amusing me. Mostly the idea of FMA being on Toonami. Come on. We've only seen 7 episodes so far and already the show has given us:

dismemberment,
dead children,
animal corpses,
physical violence,
child abandonment,
religious fanaticism,
murder,
terrorism,
cultism,
mercy killings,
gun violence,
hostage situations,
blood,
guts,
mild swearing,
killing in the name of religion,
inhuman and bloody monsters with upside-down heads,
the corpse of a violent murder victim (accompanied by a screaming child),
science with human-subject testing,
mass religious exploitation,
...and no small amount of dirty politics.

Gee, it's such a sweet and fun show, that Full Metal Alchemist. I think gradeschoolers should watch it every afternoon when they come home from class.

Did I forget anything? Oh, right! "the miracle of hormones." I  Hughes.

Wow, people are *still* saying FMA belongs on Toonami? I saw a couple of folks in the TWOP thread wondering if it would get put in that block, but that was back before the show had even aired. By now, you'd have to be a special kind of stupid to think that this is a kid's show. Of course, it seems to me that there are a lot of posters at the adultswim.com boards who're that special kind of stupid, so there you go.
