BSG, back again
Just caught a trailer for the new season of Battlestar Galactica. I have to say... it looks like fun. It looks like a dramatic, epic roller coaster yet to come.
Will season 3 be the point where BSG comes back to good in my eyes? Will these new episodes possibly drown out the oppressive aura of rotting crapola left by every episode after 2x13? Because the second half of last season was bad tv. Not fun bad tv, just plain bad tv. The most thorough character assassination I've seen in ages, so that by the end of the season finale I now liked exactly two people in the whole cast: Cally & the Chief. I totally utterly stopped caring about everyone else.
On the plus side, perhaps the new season will have that cylon that was psyching out Kara. I liked him-- I could totally ship them. You know, if the show stopped SUCKING.
I suppose this might be a surprise to many of you who did not know I was watching BSG, much less had issues with season 2. But I did, and I do. I just have to hope that the next season won't be as stab-me-in-the-eyeball bad as some of the plot points at the end of season 2 were.

Hee. Well put. I'm cautiously optimistic, at least for the first part of the season - there's certainly a lot of potential in the way they left things. I've just got my fingers crossed that Lee and Kara will both stop having afterschool-special-type Issues, because any more moping or brooding or spontaneous bursts of alcoholism or random hooker girlfriends, and I'm out of there.
Also: more Chief, please. You can never have too much Chief.

Me too! He's the only cylon left who has any sort of aura of mystery about him - I'm hoping they don't screw that up.
