(no subject)

Spent Thursday night through Sat morning in San Diego with family (and went to two parties, yay), so I missed all the episodes of the shows I'm watching right now: Grey's Anatomy, Avatar, and the premier of Ugly Betty, the title of which offends me but I thought I'd try because Salma Hayek is producing it and I've always liked her movies. Already from the commercials it looks like they chose an average-looking actress who probably would look pretty enough in the right outfits, so I'm not really sure how believable the "ugly" part is supposed to be. Kind of reminds me of She's All That, where the "ugly" girl was gorgeous underneath her overalls. ::eyeroll::

So I'm going to watch Avatar this afternoon and Grey's Anatomy tonight. I look forward to disliking Doctor Shepard even more!

I finally made my journal a new layout, since my other one disappeared. This is a temporary one, to be kept until I get lazy and change it. Pre-made layouts are so much trouble, as pretty as they are.

Also, my book poll has a three-way tie for second place. Please vote?

Like the soap opera producers on the Simpsons put it.. "I want "TV" ugly not "Ugly" ugly..."

Ah, She's All That. Don't forget she also had to take off the glasses to be hot. *is offended, because she doesn't like contacts, and can't help the fact that her eyes don't focus perfectly*

I actually watched Grey's Anatomy...while I suppose I could get into it, and the characters (except Meredith, who annoys the bleeding hell out of me), watching the whole episode reminded me of my fundamental problem with the show: I don't want to know that five seconds before going into surgery, my doctors are more concerned with screwing each other than the fact that they are going to CUT ME OPEN AND PUT THEIR HANDS IN ME. (then again, I have a slight hospital phobia.)

Oh, new layout! Pretty colors! (And I already voted for Lady Chatterly's Lover...I suppose I could go for Ivanhoe, second, then.)
