I've been bad...

Ok, I haven't visited the B/A Babble Board in a while, but I snuck in after watching the new episode of Angel.

I was reading their thread of the episode, and it is so funny. I'd be laughing out loud if I wasn't sick; as it is I have to just grin...

Their reaction to Angel muttering Buffy's name when he realizes he's started to lose his soul... it's great. I mean, are these people watching the same show that I am? It's hard to tell. They talk about EvilCordy like she's the First or something, and say that Angel screamed Buffy's name as he came... it's delusion central. I had to watch the scene at least three times (with the volume up) to catch when Angel said "Buffy," and even then it was after the ...big moment.

I thoguth this was a funny comment:

-------------
I think this is a good thing. It sounds somehow like someone has been suppressing Angel's memories of Buffy.
Plus, to the viewing audience...it's going to look like he was thinking about her the entire time. Hee.

-------------

Uh, hello? I was a member of the viewing audience-- unspoiled, and still new to the series, and I watched and it was quite clear to me he was happy having sex with Cordelia. I didn't even know about the "Buffy" thing until I read it later, and then went back to look for it in the clip. So clear? Uh-uh.

-------------
Also not only are many A/C shippers pissed about the Buffy shoutout but so are many of the spuffys and yes they are grasping desperately onto Stiney's comment.
-------------

::snigger:: Well, here's one Spuffer who isn't bothered by it at all. :g: Means nothing to me, nothing to B/S, and I don't think it meant anything to C/A either. The very fact that I didn't even hear it when I first watched it makes me think its of even less significance, if possible. They're all "Oh, the B/Sers and C/Aers are gonna panic"-- and here I am, hard core B/Ser and new C/Aer...I didn't even notice. Wasn't a blip on my radar, and when I finally did, I feel like going "Eh? What's the big deal here?"

-------------
I really think the FE & EvilCor! have been systematically surpressing the memory of Buffy in Angel's mind for awhile now...
I think Angel's memory comes bursting through at that moment causing him to shout out her name. I think when he get's his soul back we'll be seeing a much changed Angel, one who remembers Buffy and what she means to him.
Cordy tried and failed to get Angel to forget...that's my take.

-------------

Ok, now I just have to read that again have a good giggle.
[livejournal.com profile] kita0610, why can't all B/A fans be like you? All smart and rational and coherent-like.

Cause all the stuff I just read?
::shakes head:: That's fucking funny.

Thanks...

Thanks, Rashaka. I feel better now. Just been ranting in my own LJ about the "Buffy" thing (I need to stop reading the wildfeed), but here you are all rational-like. I'm glad a B/S / C/Aer (too many /s...) didn't think it was a big deal, since I'd seen only a few Duck-reactions, who would apparently have me believe that Angel all but loudly professes his love for Buffy.

Still puzzled as to why the line's there at all, though. I wish he'd said "Darla". Or "Wesley". :)

As I interpreted it, he says it when he realizes his soul is leaving, like he's remembering everything that happened with Buffy. It wouldn't have made sense to say "Darla" or "Wesley", because they ahd nothing to do wiht season 2 of BtVS. If not "Buffy", then I think he would have said something like "gyspies", "curse" or "sunnydale", or whatever he closely associated with his memory the last time he lost his soul.

Heh. I'm rational? I shall have to work on that.

I heard he says 'Buffy'- and I didn't believe it. I dunno why he says it, but it's not like it *matters*. Although my guess is because this is the last season of BtVS and there is going to be some kind of cross-overy connection by the end.

I don't think anyone of any ship can deny what Buffy meant in Angel's life. And vice versa. I'm sure when she leapt off the tower she thought of him too. But again- does it *matter*?

The B/A shippers over there are just as freaky to me as the Spuffiers on listswhichshallnotbenamed. When you watch a show JUST for a ship, esp. a Jossverse show- dude- you are in for some ROCKING disappointment.

But I may have said something similar to this on my LJ..lol

Well, we all slip up every once in a while, ne? ;)

Hmmm... as long as it's not romantic flashback to B/A, that wouldn't bother me at all. Might even have nice symmetry. Well, except for that whole part about me not liking Angel's character when he's in SunnyD. Maybe if he took Cordelia or Lorne or Wes along it wouldn't be so bad.

I don't think anyone of any ship can deny what Buffy meant in Angel's life. And vice versa.

Oh, I totally agree with that. Angel/Buffy as well as Spike/Drusilla are very important ships because without them occuring there would be no Buffy/Spike. The way both Buffy and Spike behave in relationships is heavily influenced by their previous significant relationships (and the manners in which those ship ended).

The B/A shippers over there are just as freaky to me as the Spuffiers on listswhichshallnotbenamed.
Oh? Who is this? I'm actually not very well-traveled among lists and forums except One_Good_Day, SpikesSalvation, and Crumbling Walls... I completely missed the whole BAPS thing. I only went to the TwoP forum once, and then ran off because everybody sounded like they were 13. Can ya just tell me the name, and whisper it real quitely?

P.S. --Knave! Get that scurvy shipperin' icon off me' LJ! Noooow, before I take a cannon t' ya!
::cackle::

[identity profile] kita0610.livejournal.com 2003-01-29 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. Re the icon. Personally, I prefer this one anyway.

*whispers* BAPS, TWOP, and a few scattered LJ posters who shall remain nameless? I dunno. It seems the more militant someone is about their anti-shipness, the more militant the shippers get- on ANY side. And I admit to falling into that on occasion.

What helps me is that A. It's all about the Angellove for me, mainly. If he's happy then I'm happy. Unless he's bleeding, in which case I'm also happy, because I'm sick that way. B. Slash comes before het shipping for me. C. It isn't gonna end well for anyone, and we KNOW this. This is Jossverse. Buffy isn't gonna walk off with Angel OR Spike. So fanfic-ing our little hearts out every which way is all of the good.

Post Traumatic Stress

[identity profile] leslina.livejournal.com 2003-01-29 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
All right, so I capitulated. I swore off AtS after that whole C/C shag fest in RoF, but I just couldn't help myself. I *love* Angelus. As for the 'Buffy' comment...the A/B shippers need to get a clue...it was clearly a PTSS (post traumatic stress syndrome) flash back. Here the poor guy is having another moment of pure happiness while making love to a woman that he loves and in the moment, the events of what happened the first time he was in that situation come back crashing on him as he lost his soul again. I have to say, that was pretty damn clever. The Dark Mystic didn't actually do the mojo to desoul Angel, it was more like he put him in a trance like state that enabled Angel to conjure up that one moment of pure happiness and thus desouling himself in the process. Again, pretty damn clever. Though, I'm still not picking up the Evil!Cordy vibe. *scratches head*
