It's a sick sad world sometimes.
Dear world,
Please explain to me why a live action Spike Spiegel is not being played by this guy, who has an Oscar, is in his 30s instead of his 40s, and by the way looks exactly. like. Spike. Not to mention having the right body type and a sexy voice. And having been a name-actor and leading man in other films before. WHERE DID IT ALL GO WRONG?????
Sincerely bothered by this news,
Rashaka
p.s. I wonder how I can get a hold of Adrien Brody's agent to tell him that the part he was aesthetically born to play is going to get butchered by Keanu Reeves...
Edit: Well, this makes a nice distraction.

I guess I can see why they choose Reeves. He sort of (kind of) resembles Spike in some ways. Sort of a nonchalant-ness to the character, and sort of a monotone voice. Only difference being those attributes attributed to Spike Spiegel make him mysterious and shrouded in badassery. But we usually just equate those qualities to Keanu because he's dumb and a shitty actor.
That made me laugh. *g* And I actually like Keanu Reeves...when he's playing a role like early Neo, someone who is entirely out of his depth.

Egads. Quite apart from looks, he's going to get the emotion/motivation all wrong, I think. There's a studied detachment wrapped around everything else with Spike that I don't think he'll be able to pull off?

Oh, Adrien Brody. He made me cry watching the Pianist, and I don't cry easily watching movies.

Never been big on the whole Cowboy Bebop thing but I am almost interested enough in seeing how badly Keanu is going to ruin it to actually watch the series. >.>
