Alcohol I enjoy:

white wines
apricot brandy (killer hot when paired with pepperjack cheese)
tequila shots
margaritas
wine coolers

Alcohol I despise:

beer.
beer.
red wine.
beer.

And, er, yes. I am underage. And something in me (my tastebuds) tells me that I won't like beer even when I *am* of legal age. The same way that I get older and older, yet still keep failing to see the appeal of coffee. Cause dude--
ick.

Soda I enjoy:

Diet Coke
Root Beer
Hanson's: Kiwi/Strawberry
Ginger Ale
Orange Slice

Soda I despise:

Mr. Pibb
Slice
Pepsi cola
diet Pepsi cola
any caffeine-free soda
Dr. Pepper

I up-chucked once after drinking Mr. Pibb. Left me with a bad impression. Haven't tasted it since-- which would be about 8 years, give or take.

Right there with ya. For a while, every time i would go out to dinner with friends or family i would order coffee or a cappucino at the end of the meal because it was the "Adult" thing to do, like enjoying wine and... olives. But every time i had to add packets and packets of sugar and douses and douses of milk or cream just to make it drinkable. Thus making me realize, ugh, i really don't like coffee.

Oh, and your beer-hate? Bleech, never liked it either. The only time it EVER tastes good is maybe that first sip. After that... yuck.

Word.
I've compromised, and grown to like tea, myself. I have to have sugar and cream in that too, but it's something I enjoy drinking every once in a while. Especially with sweet things, like deserts. And also chinese food.

I like very smooth wines, with the bitter ones there's this aftertaste that bothers me. And I have never liked olives. My parents used to give them to me when I was a kid, and I *did* like them... but what I actually liked about them was not eating them, but putting them on the ends of my fingers to play with. When I was done I'd just put them back on my plate again and not touch them.

I've mostly tasted mexican beer, and the cheap can stuff. But it tastes like piss to me. It did when my dad let me first taste it at age 6, and it does when I had half a bottle on my last family vacation. Smells, tastes, and looks like piss.

Since joining the navy my brother's developed a definite taste for it though, which makes me cringe on his behalf.

Trust me, hon, drinks that are not sickenly sweet grow upon you the older you get. Especially after you get sick on them once or twice.

Ditto for coffee. Wait till you make it through college; your taste buds will change radically over the next four years.

I went into college thinking beer tasted nasty. Ditto for coffee. I finished college with a profound love of beer (especially dark beers) and a big ol' jones for java.

Not just alcohol, either - I was really a picky eater when I was a teen, but I got over a big bunch of that at Sewanee. Learned to like broccoli, cheese on my hamburgers (told you, I was picky), yoghurt....

Nothing like a couple of all-nighters in a row to make one appreciate the fine flavor of a cuppa joe. ;)

Hm. We'll see.

I like all these things already. In fact, broccoli is my favorite dinner vegetable. What I hate are brussel sprouts and asparagus and mushrooms.
