Oddly enough, I read an article in Cult Times (or one of those other zines, can't remember exactly) about a year or two ago that was something along the lines of what the Buffy/Angel casts would be doing ten years down the road. And guess who was starring in a Bond flick? ;)

That would so rock. If someone already brought it up in a magazine.. it's a clear sign it was meant to be!

Willow has Mother issues at times, Tara's mom died causing her have family issues... Basically most of the characters have Mommy issues. Maybe Joss or Marti does... That would explain a lot.

I forgot about Tara's mess of family issues... I guess she just got over it a hell of a lot better than everyone else.

Yeah and Tara's family mess was pretty bad cause ok Buffy and will had the Gingerbread episode and their mom's thought they were evil but Tara had to put up with it from her dad and family for longer and she recovered better than the other have... I mean Xander's parents had atleast a smidge to do with him actually not going through with the wedding... I could discuss that topic endlessly actually

Exactly. I felt bad for him, I wanted him to wiat until the last minute and then realise "This is wrong. I used to violently hate people who did things like this. What the fuck am I doing?"

With such a black & white view of the world growing up, he had the potential to be one of the really good stalwart people on a show surrounded by grey-area people.

I've thought about it for a bit, and I'm back to 'poor Connor'. For some reason, he yanks my heart strings. He is just so screwed up, so desperate to be loved, so ripe for manipulation. But it's very unlikely he'll see the season out alive after that. There's just no way they can bring him back.

I have mommy issues. Just sayin'.

True, but it wasn't Alexis Denisof. He may be an American, but he plays Wesley with such precision and subtlety that it could work.

This season? I think "the entire show plus Angel" would be more accurate. Parents are bad in the Jossverse. Just as small children are evil. No, really...name me one episode of either Buffy or Angel where a child under the age of 13 was anything but evil. Even the little trick-or-treaters in "Halloween" got turned into a murderous mob of demons.

Totally agreeing with you on that. Last night that bit earned him 3 rewinds of the video tape. I'll probably rewatch it again today. Not that I'm obsessed or anything.

Me too, for whole different reasons. I never liked him and I really expected him to act likeable soon. And some spine would have been really nice. Maybe I even would have felt sorry for him ;).

I'm still feeling sorry for him. But the like has gone down.

The thing is, he was so cool with Faith. His crush on her was cute as all heck, and I liked him praising her to Cordy. And I like dhim earlier these last eps when he was questioning why Cordy wanted him to kill Angel, why the others would have betrayed them. Then, this all happens, an now I'm finding it hard to like him.

I'm taking the opposite view on the Connor issue.

I couldn't stand the little twit since he first showed up. Really, really did not like him...until last night. The boy is screwed up. He's alone, or feels that way. He said it himself, none of you like me and well..it's true. His life has been one big angstfest from birth and he doesn't know which way is up. His memories are centered around a horrible world that he had to fight to survive in and a fatherfigure who constantly showed his morality down the boys throat. So, he comes back to the regular world and all those things he's known without a shadow of a doubt are no longer true. Yeah, I'd have issues. So flash forward a bit, make some really stupid choices and that 'daddy' is gone and you're stuck with these people who don't like nor want you and that you still haven't figured out whether to trust or not. Except one. Who tells you you're perfect just the way you are and don't need to change to fit the status quo. Not to mention, teen hormones and first love. Hell yeah, he's gonna listen to Cordy. Who else has he got? Darla? A five minute vision of a woman everyone around you said was evil? Or the one person who has been there all along.

Given the situation and working directly from his viewpoint, he made the only decsion he could. I don't blame him for it. Which is hard to say cause I despise the character.

At the risk of sounding cheesy, I don't think death is going to redeem him. Understanding, some time and a bit of growing up should do nicely, because techniaclly it wasn't him to actualy kill the girl. he played a part but he didn't commit the act, I think it can be worked past. Don't have a clue what he's supposed to do now that the center of his world is gone.

See, that's where I'm goign to disagree.

He caught her, brought her to Cordelia, kept her imprisoned, and practically held her down while Cordy whacked at her neck. Then he soaked his hand in her blood and performed a dark ritual. Hell yeah, he's every bit as responsible as Cordelia for this girl's death. Cordy would never have gotten her if Connor hadn't kidnapped her first, thereofre this wouldn't have occured without thim, therefore he's as guilty as her, as guilty as if they had taken turns with the knife.

I hated Conner from the begining as well. Last couple of episodes? Not so much. Feeling terribly sorry for him. And the redemtionista in me doesn't want to give up on him. Hell, I didn't give up on Spike after Seeing Red, I can hold out for a little bloodshed on Connors part.

nah.. I'll have to wait and see what he does after this. I hope he gets MORE angst than Spike has had to go through (as Spike didn't kill Buffy, and Connor didn't have the history with this girl that S&B had). I don't think it will happen, but that's what ought to.
