a funny fannish thing

I thought this was funny:

Drew Goddard: "What’s all this talk about next year? Hey – the "Powers That Be" may have decided this is Buffy’s last year, but that doesn’t mean I have to accept it. I’m holing up in this office, and I’m writing Buffy scripts until they drag my cold, lifeless body out of here. Buffy For Life! Screw everyone else!"

Hell yeah. Found it here

Also interesting from the same discussion:

"Oh wait – here’s a fun trivia fact for you. Even though it’s never said on screen (and, as we’ve learned, should therefore not be taken as canon, but what the Hell, you know?) Spike’s mother’s name in the script is Anne."

Guess they still haven't given him a last name, eh?

In the original script, his mother's name was Constance, and they changed it to Anne. I'm betting it's because Buffy's middle name is Anne, and they're trying to highlight how Spike's desperate need for Buffy's love was largely due to his unresolved mom issues.

Interesting take. "Constance" is probably a symbolic name too-- it's practically Spike's middle name.

That's an interesting thought too. Either way the name is fairly symbolic isn't it? I guess Spike doesn't necessarily need a last name, but hey, I'm a sucker for details. It'd be nice to know!
