I still have the opinion I had last movie: Rogue and Wolverine have entirely too much UST. In three or four years they'll have solved her touchy-problem and be doing it like rabbits.

That said, Bobby was really sweet, and much more endearing in this movie than the last.

Mystique's bar-girl dress looking exactly like her blue skin was a great costuming decision.

Pyro going bad was too easy to see, but the actor was mean enough that he was more convincing to me than Anakin ever was. I was very interested by the line: "I can only manipulate the fire; I can't create it." Indeed, fire is a gift that consumes and destroys, that does not create.

I want my own Mystique. Someone get me one for next Christmas?

All in all, vastly more entertaining than the last, and with a much more interesting plot.

I expect Matrix 2 to blow it out of the water, and Return of the Ring to blast them both off the planet.

I'll have to recommend some choice X books to you. Yeah Mystique's an uber-bitch, but she can kick your ass and has a hell of a tragic back story. I've just got one more final on Tuesday. I'll work on getting a few scans up. Also, if you can, check out the new X-Men animated series X-Men: Evolution. It's great and has loads of hard core Mystique. Repeats run on the Kids WB and Cartoon Network.

I've watched a few episodes of that. i actually like the movie version better, but she's cool in that. The problem is I don't like the cyclops of that series, or the way wolverine is drawn. But the Rogue and Jean and Storm in that series are pretty cool, as is the teenage Nightcrawler.

What I like about Mystique in the X books is that she's more than just a minion, oh she can play the role of the crownie, and well, but Mystique is very much the ringleader. She was the Brother Hood. That's why the new animated series appeals to me, although they've tied in the minion element from the X Movie and have her working for Magneto. It's a bit OOC, but she still has the bite and the gumption of canon Mystique.

Heh. I don't have that problem. Bobby can just go join NSYNC or something... he's got that boyband look... Don't know what it is about him that bugs me so much- probably just a lack of chemistry there.

And if you find any good fic, please pass it along. I did a little looking on ffnet last week but couldn't find anything worth reading. Maybe the greatness of the Spuffy fic out there has spoiled me.

Try wolverinerogue.com. Some of the stuff there is not wholly fabulous, but a lot of it is decent, and you're a lot better off there than on ffnet. I could probably rec a fic or five from there, if that'd help.

Nightcrawler has always been my favourite and Cumming did a fantastic job with him! I always liked the way his Catholicism is portrayed as a positive influence in his life (As an atheist I don't know if you've noticed, but a a lot of sci-fi/fantasy tends to portray Religion as purely evil. It's just nice every now and then to have a positive religous character)

Yeah, I've noticed. I think partly, it's an easy target to make villians. All religions have zealots, and zealots make great villains. also, there's this huge "multi-national organization" that is the catholic church that is just ripe for a corruption-storyline.

I tend to like things like what we saw briefly on Firefly (you probably missed it), where you have a religious character and an atheist character that play off each other, both bringing the good and bad of their particular views.

Byran as in Bryan singer, the director of X-men and X-men 2. Natraully I am on first name terms with him...

The (UK) Sci-fi channel is going to show firefly so I will at least get to see it!

It's enjoyable. And it got better with each one, making me really pissed when it stopped.

It must be good. We have an informal law in this household called "The Network ruling", which basicly states that if any show is both GOOD and shows potential, and a sci-fi/fanatasy show, it will be rewarded by being cancelled!

Annything with the name "Gene Roddenbery" attached willl be accepted, even when it is total rubbish (andromeda I am looing at you!)
