Did you know most of that movie was made by asian artists? You can look at the style and tell. Or, you know, you could look at the credits, too. If you wanted to be all serious about it.

Thinking of anime, apparently there's this whole new 3-episode set of OAVs (Original Anime Video-- meaning straight to video without tv showings, but higher quality) for Fushigi Yuugi ("The Mysterious Play") out right now, that I didn't even know about. I'm torn. On the one hand, I love FY and want as much as I can get. On the other hand, I somehow know that I will never get to see Miaka choose Tasuki, which is all I've really come to want from the show anyway. Spuffy people will understand my frustration here. Unforunately, Yuu Watase (creator) never had seven seasons by which to turn the entire story around and let the dirty-mouthed but devoted scoundrel get the girl. She walked off with the "nice guy." Who was way too perfect and mature for her anyway. Grrrr.

Also, there's the fact that the last OAV set sucked like dead rotten eggs.

But I still love that show. It was a show that, if you look at the series from episode 1 to episode 52, was really quite amazing. And I guess I do really want it. Hell, I should. Anything with more Tasuki is a good thing.

Oh, does that mean you hate Tamahome? Because anyone who hates Tamahome gets many points with me. ;) Of course, I don't really like Miaka that much either, but, you know. I'm one of the few people who actually likes Yui.

Have you seen the first two OAVs?

I liked Yui. I mean, I totally thought she deserved to be smacked across the face sometimes, and she made some really stupid mistakes, but I still liked her.

I like Tamahome. I just don't think Tamahome and Miaka are at all suited for each other. For one thing, he's only 2 years older than her but he acts about 25, while she acts about 13 instead of 15. As opposed to Tasuki, who was 17 and acted 17.

Miaka I waivered back and forth on for the whole series. Mostly I thought she was alright.

I violently dislike Taka. I don't care about Hotohori (though I did get all sad when he... you know. Becuase I kinda liked him a little.)

I hated Nakago. But it was villian-hate, not character hate. He was just so vile.

I love Nuriko. I want Nuriko. Nuriko was the coolest of the senshi, hands down. Chichiri was adorable.

I've seen the first 6 OAV episodes, which were all one storyline. The one with Taka vs. Tamahome and the purple-haired twins. It was kind of stupid. I'm not really certain what came after that. I should find a list with plot summaries...
