I was downloading a lot of fanfic last night, when I noticed something. Anime fansites tend to archvie/post their fics as text files, whereas Bufy fansites tend to archive their fics as webpages.

This is neither important nor particularly interesting, but I did notice.

In X-Files land, most of the big archives(Gossamer et. al) archived the stories as text files, too. The reason for this is, of course, a text file is smaller than a HTML file, so you can store more fics in the same space. But then, in Buffy land, we don't have one central archive like in X-Files.

I used to have the entire Gossamer crosover section memorized. I haven't been there in a long time.
