Dragon Heart

Dragonheart is on in my living room right now.

I didn't like the design of the dragon, but other than that this movie was quite enjoyable. I've seen it several times. Dennis Quaid's character was cool and pathetic at the same time. I liked him as a protagonist. Plus, Denis Quaid is always good to watch on screen.

Plus, lovely score for this film. Especially near the end.

EDIT: Awww... he became a star. ::weepy anime eyes:: That's so pretty, and sad. ::sniffle::

I liked the way Draco (*tries to avoid thinking Harry Potter thoughts*) shared similar facial qualities to Sean Connery and his movements when he spoke were pretty good.

Plus I just loved the whole concept of a dragon slayer and dragon conning villagers.

.....and blubbed like a girl at the end.

Supposedly they used his face as a template for animating the dragon, like they did with Tom Hanks in Toy Story.

It was a wicked funny idea. And clever. The interaction between the dragonslayer/knight and the dragon really carried the story. So many funny lines, too. A good script made this stand out above most fantasty movies, which tend to suck more than not. Reign of Fire, for example. Much cooler dragons, but terrible storyline.

I love that movie! hmmm I'm debating actually popping in the DVD now.
The score is quite beautiful. Have you ever noticed how many movie trailers use the score from Dragonheart? It's kind of amazing.
Damn, that movie makes me cry though... look to the stars...

Oh yeah. I remember this one commercial montage that seemed to be advertising/"celebrating" the film industry as a whole, and it showed people in a theater gasping/awwing, and clips of movies, and in the background was the DH score. Took me a long time to place it, but eventually I did.
