makes me sick
So Spike's a bloodhound now? He needs a leash and the only reason he doesn't have one is because it might endanger the leash holder?
So, this is what ME wants us to think?
Could we lay on the "lowly begging dog"/"no better than an animal"/"beneath me" anvils a little more please?

Yeah. ::sarcasm voice:: I bet it is. After all, let's forgive you for trying not only to kill us, but 6 billion other people too.
But hey, ya know, six billion people literally screaming and moaning as they die and watch their friends die around them and their families die around them and know one knows why but everyone's dying and there's screaming and pain and fear and it's horrible and all of us every single human our entire race dying in one horrific night...
....No, let's just decide to forgive you, but not to forgive this other guy we know for NOT killing a single person or trying to even though we KNOW (because we arbitrarily decided last time something like this happened) that he's essentially a complete and total innocent-- in every way imaginable.
But of course it doesn't matter that he's innocent, that he's undeserving of all of this. That he's never killed another soul and that memories that don't belong to him are destroying him from the inside out even though he probably doesn't even understand why.
Let's hate him anyway because he looks kinda like this guy who more than once helped us save the world, times past.
