You know, the first time I saw PotC I didn't think Captain Jack was sexy at all. What with the hair, and the ungroomed facial hair, and the dirt and soot, and the bad pirate teeth. I thought he was wildly entertaining and "the best pirate I've ever seen"... but not sexy.

This second time around, though, he actually is kinda sexy. Heh.

Whereas Captain Jack Sparrow was Johnny Depp's first role that made actually say "GUH" out loud at his sexiness--I've loved Depp in many other roles, but Sparrow was his first walk-into-a-wall sexy role for me. I've found ALL of his roles a lot more sexy since seeing POTC, oddly enough, even the ones I didn't really think of in that way before. That happens to me a lot. I liked both James Marsters as "Buffy" season 1-4 Spike and Tobey Maguire in Pleasantville well enough, and I didn't like Vin Diesel at all. But since I fell in love with Spike in season 5, Peter Parker in Spider-Man, and Riddick in Pitch Black, I now find all 3 actors mesmerizing.

Heh. Makes you think about the psychological nature of attraction...

Chocolat. That did it for me. I was starstruck. Or, Deppstruck, as it were. Though in hindsight, his role in/as Donnie Brasco was pretty damn sexy too.

Well, I didn't see Chocolat until after POTC (rented it because of my new Depp-love, in fact), so my "GUH!" over him in that doesn't count. :D Such a dang fine movie. Eeee, Alfred Molina! Zee Doctor Octopus eez een! :D
