easy french 2 help needed!

Est-ce que je vous regarde? (where vous is the plural direct object)

What does this mean? I keep thinking it means Do I watch you?, or word for word, Is it that - I - you - watch?

But "Do I watch you?" "Do I look at you?" That doesn't make any sense. It's a senseless question.

Which makes me think I am not interpreting it correctly.

Um, I'm just guessing, but could it mean, "Am I looking at you?" Which may not make much sense either, unless it's another way of saying, "was I talking to you?" or "was I talking about you?"

You should ask someone not me, really... that was just my first thought.

okay, generally I need context, and I seem to have left all my french dictionaries at my parents house (cross country), but yeah, literarly, is it "Am I looking at you?" If it's an exercise in a book, chances are it *doesn't* make sense, it's just a test of conjugating, and the verb in the case happens to be "look". Without my dictionary, can't be sure, but I think you can also use "regard" to mean "concern". As in "cela me regard" (that's my business, that's my concern, etc).
