Today while driving I listened to nothing but Coldplay's " Politik " on repeat, which resulted in me getting another idea for a music video. I now have 3 vids running around my head that I want to make this summer:

1. Fruits Basket - " Mr. Blue Sky " by E.L.O
2. Cowboy Bebop - " Blizzard of '77 " by Nada Surf
3. Trigun - " Politik " by Colplay

If I buy the DVD set of FB at Fanime Con on a discount as I plan to, and if Jaina mails me copies of Bebop dubbed on CD, and if I purchase the 2 DVDs I don't already own of Trigun, then I should have all the source material I need to make vids WITHOUT the Evil Subtitles.

I would really like to make a Sasuke vs. Naruto video to the " A & B Song " by Tom McRae, even having to edit out the subtitles, but the fact is that I can't. There isn't the material out on the anime Naruto yet for what I need. Only abut half. I have all these clips already that I'd like to intersperce with Naruto & Sasuke in a one-on-one fight, but sadly...there hasn't been one. Not in the entire 80 epsiode run. However, I'm confident that they'll have to get around to having one sometime, undoubtedly after even more tension has developed between the two over a host of issues only touched on so far. I mean, they HAVE to have a fight at some point. That might be a year from now, though. :sigh:

But anyway-- back on topic to Trigun! " Politik " is, I just realized today, the absolute perfect song for not only Vash, but the series as a whole. The show is about Vash's state of mind and his conflicting philosophies and how all that is shaped by the people/world around him. Which fits the lyrics perfectly. Also, the rising and falling sound would match well with the drama that happens. And piano is both angsty and dramatic. All in all, the song is perfect.

I found it odd you'd want to vid those two songs since those two songs go to two of my favorite Farscape vids. Anyway, enjoy. And, no, you don't need a membership :p

Actually, I've already watched those, probably about 7 months ago was when I watched the Politik vid, before that for the other one. I had never even considered making a vid for it until just the afternoon, when I was reminding myself how much I loved it. And I was thinking that, although the vid for it was very good (I loved it and recced it to

savaa a long time ago), I didn't think it was as fitting thematically for Farscape as, say, The Scientist was-- that video was great too. And that's when Trigun hit me, because Politik is PERFECT thematically for Trigun.

I watched the video for A&B song a while ago, and I fell in love with the song more than the video, though I enjoyed it. It remains the only Tom McRae song I really REALLY like (though Kareoke Soul is enjoyable), and upon listening to it more and more, I decided that while the video for Farscape was good, certainly welll-made, it didn't utilize the fact that the two characters in the song are different people... the two Crichtons were exactly the same, after all. Then again, John's twinning was a rather unique situation most fans don't have the opportunity to make use of in other shows.

Since I started watching Naruto a few months ago I've been downloading and discarding vids constantly, mostly put off by how bad they are. Like every person who made those terrible Linkin Park / DBZ vids has now decided to make Linkin Park/ Naruto vids. ugh. And because I think about Naruto almost constantly, I began to think about possible vids. At first I was imagining that song "Meant to Live" by Switchfoot as a general all-character video, because it kind of fit with the young characters, but I just really don't like the song enough. It's a hack song that's only popular because it fits a type that's popular right now. Couldn't bring myself to really consider it. Then I thought about A & B song, which I've been listening to regularly on my computer, and I realized that it could make a very good video-- the song would also stand out as not being like the Linkin Park-inspired vids. And the words fit well too... "The storm is rising in me" is Sasuke with his curse, and "The blood is rising in me" is Naruto with his inner demon.

I had already sort of decided not to watch the Farscap A&B Song video again because I don't want to copy the organization of it. That sort of extends to the Politik vid too. ... but that's okay, because I can still watch the "The Scientist" vid and be wowed over and over again because that video NEVER bores me. That's so my John/Aeryn theme song of all time.
