You know why I love Fruits Basket? Even though it has very few fight scenes, no science fiction, only a dash of fantasy, no action/adventure and no swords, shuriken, spaceships, or Yoko Kanno?

Because every time I watch it, it either leaves me smiling like a chocolate addict, laughing like a basketcase, or crying like my pet just died in my lap.

How could I not love a show that does that to me?

EDIT: just finished episode 18. The Yuki Fan Club episode. ::grin:: Very amusing.

It reminded me of the Cowboy Bebop episode "Toys in the Attic" for its deviation from the normal style and its stand-alone wackyness. It also reminds me of the Buffy episode Storytellers because of all the "camera" POV shots, and the constant narration from giggling fangirls.

I still love Number 2's relieved delight at realizing Hana's little brother didn't know her name and thus couldn't curse her.

[livejournal.com profile] octopedingenue, it's going to be a physical pain when I have to send you this DVD back. It will hurt me. Until I manage to get to spend another 25 dollars and buy it myself. Which I probably will.

I love the Yuki Fan Club because the whole thing is one ginormous brilliant Blair Witch Project parody. SO. DANG. COOL!

yup.

You know, I should have a t-shirt mailed to me soon that says Yuki Fan Club! I ordered it at Fanime con, and she said it would be around August before she was able to complete them.

It's so cute though... a chibi Yuki with a crown and robe and everything, and it says "prince yuki fanclub". I adore it.
