post- episode 43

It's odd. FMA has to be the first fandom I have where I neither ship any pairings nor personally lust for any character.

And yet, this does not both me at all. Because I love all the characters, collectively. It's collective, all-encompassing love.

Maybe it's the pain of this show. The angst. Something about it demands that I give them hugs, forever and ever, because they need it so badly.

How am I going to survive now that I'll have to wait a week before each new episode comes out? I'll go mad!

And yet, even though there's only 9 episodes left, I can feel the story coming to and end. Things are all starting to come together, to got back to the start. It's beautiful and painful and gut-wrenching at the same time.

When this hits Adult Swim in October, it will be like nothing they've ever experienced in fan reaction. No more bickering between insane Bebop and InuYasha fans on their boards. No...all will be converted. This show is a tsunami waiting to drop over the heads of hundreds of thousands or millions of Western anime fans.

Beware the Full Metal Alchemist fan madness. It is coming.

And come the end of this year, there will be a million people crying in front of their tv at least every other week.

The extent of any vague vague shippiness I might have on FMA are that I think Hawkeye&Roy are thisclose to being 1 person (which is not necessarily romantic, really), and that when Ed & Al were bantering over what they used to fight about and Al said, "We used to fight about who was going to marry Winry!", I let out a gleeful SQUEAK.

And that's all.

To the rest of your post, a big fat WORD. (still. nonetheless. *cuddles "Inuyasha" protectively*)

Word about Hawkeye and Roy... somehow I think that they're kinda Mulder & Scully like, but without the flirtatious banter... they're so closely tied that they couldn't possibly live with anyone else because no one else would ever tolerate or understand them... and it will likely take 8 seasons for them to get around to actually having sex or something like that, until which they will be partners working for the government trying to right wrongs and triumph over evil... or at least nab that promotion.

Thing about Winry was so cute. Especially because I can't decide which one she likes or which one would be better for her... they both like her and she seems to like both of them.

But yeah, those are small-to-nonexistant bits. I just don't think about shipping when I'm watching. I'm too busy hoping no one dies.

Oh god please don't let neither of them marry her. It would be beyond trite. -_-*

If one of them did I'd put my money on Al (assuming he ever solves that little armor-body issue), but I sort of think they're all three of them beyond any chance of that now.

Have you watched past 25 yet?

Nope, but I'm kept well informed by my source. Spoilers are my friend and reduce my consumption of antiacids.
