::watching Samurai 7 episdoes 1-3 with avid interest::

Ah! I get it. There's the young overly idealistic and untested one.

There's the joker who sells his warrior skills to survive! He was James Coburn's character, wasn't he? Maybe. Cause he even looks like James Coburn.

I think the Jesusy one is supposed to be Yule Brynner. Yes, yes, definitely.

This is a very cool anime to watch, at least in terms of novelty. Granted, I've never seen The Seven Samurai... but I have seen The Magnificent Seven! So watching this show is a trip for my inner movie geek.

Although, if this ends the way The Magnificent Seven ended, I might cry. There could be crying.

Samurai 7 isn't all THAT good so far. I've seen up through episode 8, but I'll follow Katsushiro and Heihachi around even if the show sucks. That and Ukyo is pretty hilarious. What a whiner.

well, no, I agree, it's not *good*. But it is pretty neat to watch because of its remake status. And so far it's not horribly stupid, like Ragnarok.
