Dear FList,

What are your favorite icon-making fonts?

I would sure like to know.

Big, small. Fancy, weird, funny or--no, especially-- the fonts good for small captions.

Thank you.

P.S. For the record, I'm very fond of the X-Files font, though I don't get to use it often and never for small text.

Verdana. It's clear even in tiny size.

I use Silkscreen & Sevenet 7 a lot. Clean at wee sizes.

04b_03b and Monotype Corsiva

Those are the two I use the most

I've gotten into using Times New Roman at a tiny size (5 or 6 pts) with a strong anti-alias and some tracking adjustments (see icon).

Impact and Trebuchet are also good.
