Okay, Al, you're perfect. I love you. They even got that faint echo-y tonality thing.

Rose, you're adequate. You'll be fine, and besides you don't really matter anyway.

Ed... this is going to take some getting used to. You sound like Ranma Soatome. Stop it. Sound like Ed! SOUND LIKE ED!

Ooh -- nice. Do you know if the dubbed DVDs will still have the little karaoke sing-song bits at the end of each ep? I love that on the subtitled DVDs I have!
And I've been so busy in RL that I've only watched 2 more eps (to #5 so far). I'm itching for this w/e to come around so that I can get through much more.

Hope you're settling in great and having fun at uni, chica.

Kareoke sing-song?

I guess I ought to be checking out the DVDs then. I have no idea what you're talking about.

Hope you're settling in great and having fun at uni, chica.

Sometimes I get lonely-- I haven't made any close friends and my roommate likes to pretend I don't exist. But most of the people in my house are pretty nice, and there's almost always *someone* around. And we go out a lot, at least a group event every week and a half and frequently do stuff in smaller, more informal groups. So I'm getting to do a lot of social stuff, which is fun. And my classes are good.

Hee! I had the same general type of thought. He sounds like Kurz from Fullmetal Panic. "Oh my god, they shrank Kurz(icon)! No more beer for him."

Tohru's english voice person is Lust. Innocent Tohru's voice will be coming out of Lust's mouth.

It'll be weird to heard "Al" instead of "Aru".

Yeah, I read about Laura Bailey being Lust/Tohru on www.imdb.com

That's just going to be weird. Then again, I'm sure she'll sound pretty different-- I imagine Lust as being a deep, silky bedroom voice; hopefully she'll play that up. Heck, the *name* is all you need to know how the character should sound.

Oh, I just had a thought

If I were to ever cast Lust in a live-action thingy, I'd pick the actress who did Inara on Firefly. She's gorgeous, kind of vaguely Persian so she has the right features and coloring, and she could be a really well-done evil bitch with somewhat sympathetic and damn-I-almost-agree-with-her motives.

*relieved sigh*

The voices seem to be pretty decent, for the most part. Maybe this show won't be ruined by its English version.

I sincerely hope not. Really really.

So many other terrific shows have been completely ruined when they were translated, and I'm just hoping that this one won't become one of them.

*crosses fingers*

Here's hoping.

Hmm. None of the clips will load for me. I keep getting error messages. So it starts November 6th? I'm gonna hound [livejournal.com profile] wolfspring day in and day out to watch it.

Keep trying-- you need realplayer. But it's cool; you get to hear the voice of Ed, Al, Rose, and Father Cornello

[identity profile] donna-c-punk.livejournal.com 2004-10-21 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, that explains it. I uninstalled RealPlayer because it was jacking up my computer.

Ed...*cringes*, Al is okay but he sounds too monotoned for some reason.

Laura Bailey as Lust?!!! I'm having a hard time imagining this. But I guess we'll have to get used to it.
