Random thing I just noticed: Episode 10 of Full Metal Alchemist has a major visual shout-out to Lupin III in it. I was watching it tonight and I can't believe I missed it before because it's so obvious. Zenigata's alternate dimension great-grandfather, methinks. I'd screencap it for demonstration, if it weren't 3:13am.

Have you seen any of the anime Here Is Greenwood? It has the best Lupin shout-out of all tiiiiiiime.

I have not seen Here Is Greenwood. But take my word for it-- go back and watch episode 10. The cop dude chasing Psiren (I kept thinking she was Psyche--?--weird) is a total Zenigata homage. The yellow jacket, the hat, the hair: everything.

BWAH! YES! I saw it TOO but nobody else who has seen FMA that I know has seen much Lupin (if any)! So I thought maybe I'd imagined it. But if TWO people notice it, it's legit! ;D

Legit all the way. I haven't seen a whole lot of Lupin (about 10 episodes, and Castle of Cagliostro), but I love it anyway.

Is your icon for FB? If it is I don't recognize the picture-- is it from the manga that has yet to be released?

Lupin is great. We picked up a lot of the manga - tons of sex and violence all the way, but hysterical. :D Miyazaki sorta reinvents it for Castle of Cagliostro, but that's not a complaint, since he does so in such an *amazing* way - gawd, is that movie good.

The icon is indeed from the later manga - octopedingenue made it for me. But it's actually Kagura and Kyo, even though she's grown her hair out and looks a helluva lot like Tohru in that chapter. *g* I think it's in volume 12... not sure on that. The chapter itself is not as romantic as my icon would imply ^_~

Anyway, I'm not overly partial to any one pairing in that series, but I am heavily fond of Kagura/Kyo because 1) I have a kink for pairings like that, and 2) nobody else seems to back it *g* K made me two icons, and now I'm hoping to go out and make some of my own (for 'Kyoga' as well as probably most other pairings - Kyo/Tohru, Yuki/Tohru, probably Kyo/Yuki *snerk*)
