Watched the second half of FMA #10 with ShakaDada this weekend. ShakaDada drecords anime for Shaka, but does not understand it. He was really bored tonight though and obviously didn't get the psychic signals Shaka was sending him that said Go away, please, go back to bed, because although Shaka has been out of the anime addict closet for many years, she still can't stand to sit in the same room with a parental unit without getting embarassed and feeling an intense need to explain.
Of course, it's just Shaka's kind of bad luck that it wasn't the high-intensity emotional episodes with lots of exciting and dramatic moments that ShakaDada dropped in on. It was the single comedy episode that paid references to Batman and to numerous anime in-jokes, a very simple one-shot episode, not one that correctly portrays the AWESOME OMGness that is FMA in total.
And because Shaka is still a little immature (that stupid intense need to explain) she is disappointed because now will ShakaDada think she only watches this anime that doesn't seem all that special, when she's been begging him to record it since November and gushing about how good it is, and how old is she now?
::sigh:: Why couldn't he have watched episode 7 or 8, or something? You know, the episodes with human test subjects or dead pets or dead little children or Silence of the Lambs-style serial killers?
No. He had to catch the cute episode. Ugh.

You're not the only one! I've been trying to get my mom hooked and I've had to sit with my hand over my mouth to prevent myself from babbling through the entire episode.
