... Funny how they use "violent" (with stressed emphasis) as a description for SC but not for FMA. Cause, dude... FMA is like 3 times as gorey as Samurai Champloo. Say it with me: exploding heads.

Dude, I don't know how you can be upset about Mugen's voice of all people. I mean, he's Spike's Assy Ancestor, so he's played by Spike. It works.

Overall, I found the SC dub to be good, it's just that the Japanese VAs are already so fabulous it's hard to compete. I'll probably watch both ways on the DVD.

What jaina said. It would be hard for English VA's to match the perfection of the Japanese voices, especially for Mugen, but who would be better for voicing Mugen than Spike Spiegel? That having been said, I think Stephen Blum is still settling into the role, but I enjoyed the dub and will continue to watch it. I went so far as to review the dub in my journal, and it does deserve a fair shake.

It was more Jin's voice that was grating on my ears. I already knew who Mugen's dub VA would be, but I think I was trying to block it out of my mind or something.

It probably would have helped if I heard their voices while watching the animation instead of with a sound clip, but as it was it just sucked ass.
