I'm a little confused about the gender of these two Atsuki members. Is the one with evil ~~eye~~mouth-hand the wife or the husband? Or are they both husbands?

Gaara is pretty now, isn't he? I thought that when I first looked at the chapter, too.

I loved the bit with Kakashi thinking how they used to be cute, too. Hee.

Yeah. Before, I loved Gaara as a character but never thought he was cute (actually the only one I thought of as attractive of the genin set in a purely physial way was manga-Kiba, when he wasn't wearing his stupid jacket), but now I'm kinda fangirlling him.

Yeah, me too. Actually, I thought his coloring was interesting; the red hair and the light green eyes are a nice combination. But, that wasn't enough to make me fangirl him. I just like pretty colors. But...now...yeah, he's totally worthy of a little fangirling.

Oh, and I also agree that Kiba looks better without the jacket.

... Now he will be a looker when he grows up. I jsut edited that to remove all the kangi. Mmm. You know, he and Gaara kinda look alike.

Hmm...yes, I see what you mean. Kiba will definitely be a hottie. Now I'm looking forward to seeing how he looks now that he's older.

And now that you mention it...there is kind of a resemblance between him and Gaara. The hair. And the shape of their eyes, too...Well, somewhat. The shape of Gaara's eyes is made slightly different because of the dark circles.

Definitely the hair (though I notice that Gaara's is longer in the new chapter). And the eye shape, though ultimately Gaara doesn't have cat pupils... his pupils look more like Hyuuga eyes.

Speaking of Kiba's eyes...Isn't it odd that a clan that's supposed to be associated with dogs have pupils like cats?

I think that's more of a stylistic thing in anime rather than Kishimoto's intentional design - if you notice, Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru from Inuyasha both have slit pupils, and they're dog youkai.

That's true. But, I guess I always associated that with their youkai-ness itself rather than the specific kind of youkai they were. It seems like a lot of the youkai in the series have the slit pupils going for them.

Well, technically, shouldn't Sasuke still be a genin too? I really doubt Orochimaru would send him to the chuunin exams, and Sasuke would probably be too busy ~~brooding~~ training to become stronger to bother with things like titles anyway.

Actually, I think it goes without saying that Sasuke doesn't really count anymore, being that he's now gone and turned evil and all.

I think weird mouth-hand-person is female, but I've been wrong before (Haku confused me at first, I admit.). And I think the term translated as "husband" is the word used to refer to a geisha's patron ("danna"), which is pretty interesting.

I think Gaara's always been pretty, but in a creepy way. (I think it's the eyes.) Now, he's just really damn sexy. And sane! (Notice he doesn't have his gourd anymore... hmm.)
