(no subject)

I'm sitting here with a big smile on my face.

Princess Tutu, unfortunate though the title may be, is making me one happy little surrealist. I'm now through episode 5. Even when it's eerie and slightly disturbing, I can't help but smile at this anime.

Huh. Episode 6 was interesting too.

The first half of the series is a moderately normal, linear progression of a traditional anime story, with a slightly unfinished but emotionally satisfying ending. The last half of the series is like they went, "and now here is the REALLY CRACKTASTIC post-series fanfiction series based on our own series, with all the inherent cracktasticness of fanfiction to start with: unexpected relationships and major characters presented in a new way and supporting characters thrown into the spotlight and meta beyond meta and tiny character moments from the past dragged up again to say 'Remember this? THIS IS IMPORTANT' and blood and darkness and ducks and the occasional cow."

By the way I *loved* that one of the magic stones Edel was trying to sell was called "artistic liscence". That cracked me up. Ahiru..."That's a strange name..."

And now, episode 7

Study? Who wants to study? I'm watching anime! But thank you for how quickly you're getting these to me. I can download a lot, so keep sending them! :)

Now you're really tempting me. I found it interesting that Fakir, who up till now has been fairly antagonistish, seemed genuinely worried about Mytho's fearful breakdown in episode 6. Might he not be total a-hole? My curiosity is piqued.
