I don't want to know anything about the 13th episode this weekend. Please god don't spoil me for that. Assume this questions is ALL I know about future episodes. Just confirm this spoiler I heard with a yes or a no, and if it's a yes feel free to squee with me in the comments.

If it's really true, I'm going to be positively elated. My ship won't be gone! It'll be different of course, and I worry that Ten will be more platonic and have less UST with Rose than Nine did... but still, OMG MY OTP MIGHT LIVE! ::bouncing in chair:: Please please be true....

Seriously, it's Four that's to blame. I watch one of his episodes, and for half-an-hour after my brain's stuck in Silly/Absurd Humor mode. You know when Nine made his awful "I love a happy medium!" joke? That's Four's humor in a nutshell.

I thought that was an awesome pun. Bad in the way that ALL puns are bad, but awesome in the way that all puns are kind of awesome.

Four is like that all around. He's got some weird personal charisma that lets him carry off the most ridiculous behavior and fashion and jokes with aplomb. It's kind of embodied in the scarf, which could be stupid, but somehow works.

It'll be kind of ironic that Nine was mocking Rose about picking up "pretty" boys, and his new incarnation ends up younger-looking and more "pretty boy" faced.

Hmm, yes. I wonder if he'll suffer from Five's problem of feeling uncomfortable in such a young body. Five seemed to be frustrated when he didn't command the same respect in a young-looking body as he did when he looked more mature. People questioned him more, instead of deferring to his judgment, and the actor said he was consciously playing a sense of discomfort, I believe.

That would be interesting, and I wonder how it might affect his relationship with Rose. Would she see him more as her peer? How would he feel about that? Although he's not THAT much younger, just about 6 or 7 years.

Maybe if he's been in a younger body before, he won't be as frustrated this time and he'll know how to adjust.

I wonder what Jackie will think about his new form the first time she sees it?

Just thinking about the fact that we're up to 10 now means that... some day this franchise might run all the way to the end. I'd hate to be the people making the 13th Doctor's series. Talk about pressure-- knowing you're ending a cult tv franchise and icon, and that there's no more after you so you'd better not suck.


I hope that with the sucess of this season, someone US State-side picks up the show for our audiences. Sci Fi channel would be best I think, and most likely. UPN would be a possible too since they take chances on new shows pretty often. I hope they'll realize that even though Dr. Who has such a cult tv history that's British and won't be known by a lot of Americans, the appeal to new fans is strong enough that it won't matter.

Although, my parents watched Dr. Who as kids and they're not British, so maybe even that's not a worry.

Given the new surge of sci-fi / fatansy stuff after the sucess of Lost, you'd think American networks would be open to the idea.

The Dr Who fanbase was apparently up in arms when The Doctor kissed Grace in the movie (cannot remember much of the movie, been years) but you never know.

I have that movie on my computer! The kiss scene was cute, but actually less romantic than the moments the Doctor and Rose spend staring at each other.
