Some things stick in your mind, moments where you realize that in the eyes of the world you're an adult, not a kid. For me, one of those moments was the first time a stranger asked if I was married. I was 20, and completely flabbergasted for about a full three seconds-- which is a long time in a conversation in small car. I was utterly unprepared for that question and my brain just about fried on the spot at the very idea.

3 doesn't happen often when you live in an apartment with a locked door, so I'm not sure my "not happened yet" answer applies to what would happen if people could come to my door.

And I had a boyfriend for a year before I went out on a real date (with someone who was never my boyfriend.) "Dating" is such a funky little topic because dating doesn't really relate to who you "date," ya know?

By "asked out on a date" I meant someone you meet suggests you go out for dinner/coffee/movie/where-ever with them. Or if it was someone you already knew, then the first time they asked you to do something as a potential love interest and not as a friend.

I've never heard of people comming to your door to ask you out... I'd sign up for that. I assume people meet others at their jobs or at social scenes or something. The first time I got asked out, it was by someone I met at a party, and they asked me a few days later.
