Jul. 3rd, 2005 08:02 pmSome things stick in your mind, moments where you realize that in the eyes of the world you're an adult, not a kid. For me, one of those moments was the first time a stranger asked if I was married. I was 20, and completely flabbergasted for about a full three seconds-- which is a long time in a conversation in small car. I was utterly unprepared for that question and my brain just about fried on the spot at the very idea.

Date: 2005-07-04 05:05 am (UTC)And I had a boyfriend for a year before I went out on a real date (with someone who was never my boyfriend.) "Dating" is such a funky little topic because dating doesn't really relate to who you "date," ya know?

Date: 2005-07-04 05:45 am (UTC)I've never heard of people comming to your door to ask you out... I'd sign up for that. I assume people meet others at their jobs or at social scenes or something. The first time I got asked out, it was by someone I met at a party, and they asked me a few days later.

Date: 2005-07-05 09:00 am (UTC)But when I was 17 I had a guy at the door ask me if "Mr.XXXXXX" was here, and I said no, and he said, "Are you his...wife?" That kinda stunned me.
