Some things stick in your mind, moments where you realize that in the eyes of the world you're an adult, not a kid. For me, one of those moments was the first time a stranger asked if I was married. I was 20, and completely flabbergasted for about a full three seconds-- which is a long time in a conversation in small car. I was utterly unprepared for that question and my brain just about fried on the spot at the very idea.

The last one is tough. The first time I actually got asked out, or the first time I actually went out on a date? Way different numbers. *g*

Ah. Well, I guess I mean "asked", since the first time you go out with someone and it turns into a date... that's harder to define.
