New episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist will air on Adult Swim in AUGUST.

That's right peoples. August, not October. It's been moved up by several months. August! That's so soon!

So voleuse, you might want to rethink skipping ahead into the fansubs, since now apparently your wait went from 5 months to 1 month.

Although, the fansubs are pretty amazing.

But anyway, THREE CHEERS FOR ADULT SWIM FOR CHANGING THEIR SCHEDULE!

Now I just have to worry about how much they're going to cut. I mean, there's a lot of gore in season 2... and people dying...and bad evil stuff...

It was aired on one of the black/white text "bumps" that always play on AS. There was a list of upcomming series, with months, and FMA was on it. There's also a discussion about it going on the Adult Swim boards. I didn't see the bump air myself, but multiple people on the AS boards did and it appears to be a genuine bit of news. www.adultswim.com

Honestly, I don't forsee them changing that much. Editing out the excessive blood, yes, but changing the core of the story? Nope.

All the same... *whoops* Yay, AS!

Well, so far they get a decent, if confused score for editing: they cut the images of Scar exploding people's heads (Gran, Gluttony, random bikers)... but they kept the image Hughes cutting Envy's throat. And they just cut a few frames, they didn't edit the blood out.

I'm worried that if they have to cut exploding heads... well, there's an aweful lot of blood in episodes 41-42, for instance. Blood that would be really hard to cut out because you'd be cutting half the episode, where people are running around bloody.

Actually, you should just run with it. Watch the subbed completely. But space yourself. Limit yourself to a certain amount of episodes at a time, and don't stray. Especially for the last 10 or so episodes-- those you should watch one per day maximum. Anticipation is everything. But nevertheless, the sub is better and you really should watch it that way first. Plus, watching the dub week by week after the fansub is like getting the series twice. You're never sure how the new actors are going to do/interpret particular scenes.

Don't forget to post your reactions! I want to see what you think of certain WTF events. FMA, especially season 2, makes your brain bleed out your ears.

I think I will run ahead, because I always fall behind on watching them as they air on Cartoon Network. DVR makes me lazy that way.
