Poll for nothing in particular

EDIT: I am tired and must sleep now. There's an ongoing Avatar mini-fic in the comments, y'all are free to throw your two cents.

...how bored are you?

[identity profile] akavertigo.livejournal.com 2006-04-25 08:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ditto. So. Um. Er.

A Waterbender and Fire Prince walk into a bar...

The firebender tried to melt it before impact, but the waterbender thought he was attacking, and in an effort to stave off another Hundred Years War...

She kicked him once in the ankle and twice at the knee, which was a pretty good idea until he lost his balance and gravity decided to get funny about the situation…

Leading, of course, to his utter failure to melt the large bar of whatever it was (he was really rather busy having his legs being assualted to pay attention) before stumbling straight into it.

But, as everyone knows, Fire Nation Princes bounce. They bounce right off things onto other things. Soft, squishy, waterbender-shaped things.

First there was a moment of guilt (shouldn’t have kicked him.) Then there was a moment of worry (uh-oh, and down he goes.) Then there was a hand landing on where no man’s hand was allowed to land and much shrill indignation.

He was learning a lot today. In fact, in just the last minute alone he'd learned:

a. that sometimes walking around something is easier than trying to blast it to bits

b. that he really needs to work on his peripheral vision or any old water tribe schlub could come up behind him and disable him in a most embarrassing fasion

c. this waterbender was not any old water tribe schlub

d. this waterbender had breasts under that oversized parka

e. bad hearing in his left ear didn't make someone shrieking into it any more bearable

Good idea: asking the armored Firebender with the sticky paws to get off your chest.

Bad idea: asking the armored Firebender with the sticky paws to get off your chest…and then in your hurry to help him move off you, rolling him on his back with you on top.

Good idea: Not participating in balance-upsetting activities while on top of a snow hill.

Bad idea: Laughing at the prince with his head in a snow bank.

Is bleach effective against pod-Zuko? Pod-people can be hard to kill. I'm pretty sure we could get the author though.

"I kicked fire up at him in attempt to capture him. "

Because, you see, Zuko's fire is Special Fire, with bonus Restrainng Power.

I'm starting to worry that the word "capture" doesn't mean what a sad lot of people in our fandom think it means. I always took it for a synonym of "apprehend" or "imprison", but apparently this is not the popular definition for our fandom. Whatever that is.

Ah polls. Where would bored teens be without you?

I always wanted to learn how to make meth, not out of a desire to do drugs, but simply because it seems like it would be an interesting thing to know.
