LJ friending policy

For the first time in a long time, I culled a portion of flist today. I took off mostly people whom I haven't remembered speaking to in a long time, or whose posts I don't remember reading in a long time.

I wanted to go below a hundred, but I stopped at 116. Turns out I'm not as hardcore as I wish I was; my packrat tendencies follow me even into LJdom. But I did cut out a lot of LJ comms from my flist, and I think that will help QUITE a bit with the lessening the overload.

Now, to borrow from [livejournal.com profile] octopedingenue, who put it so nicely, here's my friending policy:

I waffle wildly over my personal friends list, but at least one rule of thumb is bone-solid: it is absolutely okay to add me to your friendslist without asking, to keep me on your friendslist whether or not you're on mine, and to comment in my journal on any public post whether we're soulmates or strangers. I am always flattered when people read and comment on my posts here, and I often check out the journals of people who have me friended, so don't be surprised to see me comment now and then. If there's a particular post you'd like me to see, feel free to direct my attention to it.

That's good to know, since I really enjoy reading your LJ on a regular basis. I don't comment as often as I should, but the reading is good here :)

I love reading your LJ. (Since we've started to share some fandoms, I've been interacting more with my List as a whole.)

Oh, totally OT, but I saw something at work today. AVATAR TALKING FIGURES. Zuko and Aang. They're, like, 10 inches or so tall. I get a 20% discount and I'd considered buying one of each, but would you be interested in one? I could say it's a birthday gift or something. I couldn't believe it when I saw them. Of course, I looked for Katara. None. Boo! No Sokka, either.

Where do you work?

I'm trying to cut down on stuff that I own, so I'll have to decline. But, dude, the minute you see an Alphonse Elric plushie, I'll mail you a check if you buy it for me. I've never seen Avatar plushies, but those too. Thanks for asking.

I like reading your LJ as well. It's great to have a few people on my flist who not only watch a lot of the same anime, but also the same tv, as me.

Give me a heads up when you start Life On Mars reaction posts; I can't wait to see what you think of the show.

You gotta tell me what Talking Zuko sounds like, though! Is it Dante Basco's voice?

Wow, I made the cut! Heh. I'd've kept you on my list even if I'd been cut - you have the kind of LJ I like, with a combo of personal life and fannish kinda stuff - but it's nice to see my name still there. ^_~

Yay! You don't know me, but I like to read your LJ and I've been meaning to friend you but wasn't sure what your whole policy was on that. ^_^ So yay!

Lol

Rashaka has stalkers. ^^ No, no, I don't count.

I do read your LJ, but I don't friend unless someone friends me; most of the time, I don't remember to. So as long as you permit comments, it's good.
