When the end of the month rolls around...

If anyone's looking for a person to give a Dreamwidth invite code to, I'm your woman. I did the OpenID thing and registered myself, but IRC has always eluded me in its alleged simplicity (I didn't even know it had anything to do with DWth) and I'm not entirely sure that I understand the whole invite-request process. I have DWth fail. Given how dependent I am on communities for fandom interaction, I don't foresee a mass migration of the Shaka from LJ on my own, but if the rest of you jump, I'll straddle the ship and the dock with you.

I'm not heavily into the creation side of fandom, but I'm eyeing DWth for the same reason that you are, it sounds like people are considering making the jump. So if you have plenty to spare, I'd like one, but please feel free to give them to people more prolific than me.

I'm treating it more as a straddle than a jump, I think. A lot of folks on my flist already use alternate journals. I haven't until now felt that any of the others was worth the effort of trying out.

If I get a code and then somehow get ones to give, I'll send you one. I imagine they'll be passed around quickly within LJ fandom circles once the 30th opens.

I imagine most people will be double-posting for a long time, as the site builds up its features and works out its kinks. There's a lot of things I like about it already, including splitting your flist between people you watch and people who are permitted to watch you.
