::watches Inu Yasha::

Oh. This is the episode where IY gets blamed for slaughtering Kouga's tribe. I always thought that was a clever trap. Saw this in subtitled.

Wait... THAT'S Kagura's English voice?

That's... so incredibly fucking cool. Who else has this actress done, I wonder. She sounds familiar, and yet not. Good casting choice though.

EDIT: Sadly this episode also illustrates one of my main gripes with this series: the need to explain everything verbally that we already just saw visually. This show is far too explain-y of very simple developments. Something happens, and then the characters have to take time out and explain it. Which would be fine, except that I just finisehd seeing it milliseconds ago and thus don't need an explanation, you know.

Kagura's dubbed voice is one of the best, IMNSHO. She and Japanese!Kagura sound just alike: sexy and cool and artfully bored. I LOVE the "Inuyasha" dub.

The overexplanation of stuff can get annoying. I tend to take it in stride as part of the series that I can laugh at as well as laugh with, though. About the only time when I just can't stand it anymore is when Inuyasha uses the Kaze no Kizu/Wind Scar--holy GAWD if he takes five minutes to explain how the Wind Scar works AGAIN one. more. time. I think I will crawl into the TV set and shake him. ;P I could use it as a drinking game...but I'd die of alcohol poisoning.

I wuv my shiny anime with the pretty pretty canine boys and the cool girls and the funneh. *snuggles them all*

IMNSHO

That's a new one for me.

sexy and cool and artfully bored.

Artfully bored-- that's a wonderful description.

Speaking of descriptions, are you ever going to write IY fic? What's holding you up? I loved your Spike fic and I would love some IY fic from you just as much!

IMNSHO

In My Not-So-Humble Opinion. :)

Speaking of descriptions, are you ever going to write IY fic?

I think I'm going to have to start writing IY fiction just so I'll have something to READ. I started trolling the German and French sections of FF.net yesterday--you know you've hit rock-bottom when you're looking at stories in lanugages you don't speak!

What's holding you up? I loved your Spike fic and I would love some IY fic from you just as much!

Awwww! Thank you! *blushes* I would love to write "Inuyasha" fiction, honestly. I just haven't had any story ideas at all bite me. Give me a story idea or two and I'll try to write it. :)

A story or two idea? Alright.

Um... So this hanyou walks into a bar...

... so it turns out the Shikon Jewel is not destined to turn InuYasha into a full demon after all but is actually used 400 years later to turn a love-lorn vampire into a human when he burns to death wearing it in an apocalyptic battle and then is simultaneously reborn as a human and pulled into the past on the sother side of the world...

... What if one random day something killed Kikyou, and miles away Kagome woke up and/or suffered a small seizure as the remaining bits of her soul flooded back into her all at once, only it brought with it not only the souly parts, but also every memory of both of Kikyou's lives, and they mold with Kagome so that she has the memories of her past life as if they were her own, and also the two conflicting memories of present/recent time, and the buggering fact is that both are real and hold equal weight. Kagome/Kikyou is left to deal with being two women, who are also the same woman.

... Seshoumaru and Kagura have a twisted funky romance that is so wrong and opportunistic, but hot and sexy...

... Rin and Kohaku have a much more G-rated but just as earnest love romance...

... Kouga gets laid because god knows he needs it something bad...

... a romance between Kagome and an older, wiser IY who has waited 400 years to find her again (I've never read one of these)...

... Naraku is doing a random evil villain thing one day that accidentally ruins the lunch of another random demon and this random demon promptly squashes Naraku like a bug, thus solving everyone's problems...

... Kagome gets put on trial for being a child-killing witch and gets hunted by a lynch mob...

... Something that involves Kagome learning more about her powers

... This whole thing with Inu Yasha technically being a prince (though he's dirt-poor) because his father was a demon king or whatever finally comes into play in some unfortunate situation...

So this hanyou walks into a bar...

Fruits Basket

[identity profile] rashaka.livejournal.com 2004-04-20 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
So I had this brilliant idea.

My dad has a DVD recorder. I just installed a DVD reader on my own comp. I'm going to take all my Fruits Basket eps and collect them onto one DVD. Then I can mail you the [[::searches for word that means "rendered useless by way of replacement" and fails to find it::]] CDs! That way you get the whole collection. Also, I've been saving all the good FB music vids I come across on the same discs, so you'll get a few of those. :)
