Well, I posted chapter 6 of my Fruits Basket WIP, Mon Autre Vie. This is the first chapter that doesn't center on Tohru, and I hope I handled Hiro's characterization decently. I had better; he's eventually going to carry almost a third of the story. Naturally, this makes me nervous.

But the chapter is pretty good, I think. If nothing else it starts to give readers a peek into what's really going on. Not the whole thing, of course, but a peek.

I'd also like to point out to the general world that this is my *sixth* chapter, and the farthest by far that I've ever taken a WIP before. And at over 1000 words almost double any other chapter yet. Bully for me. Here's hoping I take it a lot father. If nothing else because most FB fic is so abismally bad even that even if this is disappointing at least you'll know that I can use a comma properly.

It's official ... you are watching too much FMA! You're picking up it's evil traits and killing people I like!

Shigure too pretty to die!

I know. I love Shigure. I love him so much. But I need things to be bad because this is much darker than the series. I mean, in 6 chapters I've retroactively killed Uo, Hana, Shigure, and Yuki, as well as Tohru's mom.

But wait until you see what I do with Kyo and Hatori! Oh, Hatori's part will be fun to write.

And it's all so interconnected. Sadly, my Shigure, my puppy, had to be sacrificed. But that doesn't mean he doesn't still have an influence on the story... ;)

Writing this is hard, though. Hiro's first chapter already turned out differently when I wrote it than when I planned it... I mean the Hatori/bathroom scene wasn't in my outline at all. Nor were Kisa and Haru's neuroses. Which I'm going to have to remember when I write them later... ::grumble::

Do with or do to Kyo and Hatori? *panic*

I think Hiro's chapter turned out great. I liked it muchly. :D

I'm going to have massive flashbacks. You'll be complaining about them before long.

Flashbacks are good! They are explainy. And you, Puppy Killer, have lots of explaining to do. :p

You're never going to let go of that, are you? ::sigh:: Oh well. Maybe I can take it as a brand of my advancement as a writer. I'll say it out loud,

"I am so coldhearted that I killed off Shigure. I am so coldhearted that I killed off Shigure. I am so coldhearted that I killed off Shigure."

I can feel the Joss genes in my blood.

Oh, and I did want to thank you for the review. It made me smile to know that you were reading. And I definitely, definitely, will be doing more. I feel it: this is the chapter fic I will complete.

Of course I'm reading. It's even on the iPod to reread at work.
