I watched this when I was a kid.

Someone on my flist (edit: [livejournal.com profile] herongale) uploaded an episode of "The Joy of Painting, with Bob Ross" a few days ago, and I nabbed it wondering Is this the show with that guy with the fuzzy hair who made painting look so easy?

It is!

I'm watching it now, and OMGIT'SLIKEHYPNOTISM.ICAN'TLOOKAWAY.

Oh look he's adding a tree!

And look at what he's doing with the pond reflection!

The foliage! How does he do that? I mean, I know how he did it because I just watched him do it, but HOW DOES HE DO THAT?

Now I want to get out my art supplies and try all his neat little tips. And I have an urgent desire to go buy some brushes. None of my brushes are as wide as his! How can I paint without that really wide round brush? I AM NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT IT!

Television is evil.

It's weird how he does it. I can't look away. When I stop at that show, I just stare and stare, and I've never painted a day in my life.

It's the devil, I tell you.

Yes. They should have him do infomercials with his soothing, hypnotic voice. The television watchers of America would max out their credit cards in a day.

I'm sure he could if only he wasn't dead. Ya know, when I found that out a few yrs ago in a People's magazine that had a section about celeb's that had died, I had no clue he was one of them. I forget what he died from. I think his death and Eddie Rabbit's took me by surprise.
