Have you been watching the new Doctor Who? The Ninth Doctor was a total woobie. The writers woobified his previously non-woobie character by destroying his planet and giving him Deep Inner Pain. Now he goes around the universe by himself in his big black leather jacket that screams "Don't touch!" and when Rose first tries to get him to talk about Gallifrey he gets snappish and aggressive and cagey. And later she says "I know how sad you are."
