I totally get where you're coming from. I would love to write some Legolas-centered LOTR fic, but in order to do so I feel like I'd have to study the books and all those godawful appendices, and I find Tolkien's novels, except for The Hobbit, absolutely exhausting to read. They're just way, way too dense for little old me. Oh Well.
